Valiant Solutions is seeking an Information Assurance Deputy Program Manager to join our rapidly growing and innovative cybersecurity team for an opportuity in Suitland, MD!

The Information Assurance Deputy Program Manager oversees the development and implementation of information assurance strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the protection of organizational assets and compliance with relevant regulations. They collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security controls into system development processes and provide guidance on security best practices. Additionally, they conduct security assessments, monitor security events, and support incident response efforts to mitigate threats and vulnerabilities, all while staying updated on emerging threats and technologies to enhance the organization's security posture.

Required Experience:
  • Must be willing to work onsite in Suitland, MD
  • 5+ years of related experience in IT Project Management and/or IT Security Management.
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering, related degree or an additional three (3) years of relevant experience.
  • Requires a PMP certification
  • Extensive experience with federal cybersecurity policies, regulations, and guidelines such as FISMA, FedRAMP, and the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Understanding of federal information security requirements specific to classified or sensitive information handling, including experience with security clearance processes.
  • Ability to navigate and comply with federal reporting requirements, including FISMA reporting, OMB directives, and agency-specific reporting obligations.
  • Experience in developing and implementing information security policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Proficiency in assessing and mitigating cybersecurity risks across various technology platforms.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate information assurance programs and initiatives.
  • Experience in conducting security assessments, audits, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Proficient in incident response planning and execution.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders and teams.
  • Leadership abilities to manage teams, prioritize tasks, and drive results in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Experience:
  • Relevant cybersecurity certifications, preferred
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement information assurance strategies, policies, and procedures to safeguard organizational assets and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Assist in the management and coordination of information assurance programs, including risk assessments, vulnerability management, and incident response activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security controls and requirements into system development life cycle (SDLC) processes.
  • Provide guidance and support to project teams and stakeholders on security best practices, requirements, and controls.
  • Conduct security assessments, audits, and evaluations to identify vulnerabilities and assess the effectiveness of security controls.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of security documentation, including system security plans, risk assessments, and security awareness materials.
  • Monitor and analyze security events and incidents, and coordinate response efforts to mitigate threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of security compliance reports and documentation to regulatory agencies and oversight bodies.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of security technologies and tools, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption solutions.
  • Stay abreast of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies to continuously improve the organization's security posture and readiness.
  • Ensure support and protection of FIPS 199 High-Level Systems
