Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Job description

Total Wine & More is seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our Supply Chain & Merchandising team in our Boca Raton, FL (or Bethesda, MD) office. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our features by designing, developing, and executing manual and automated tests. The Senior SDET QA Engineer will work collaboratively with business analysts, product owners, and engineers to understand functional requirements. The ideal candidate will have significant experience line of business applications using automated tools, and will work collaboratively to share best practices and standardize techniques within and across organization. You will report to Senior Director, Software Engineering.

You will

Develop, document and maintain functional test cases and other test artifacts like test data and automated testing scriptsReview and analyze requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedbackCreate and maintain test automation using test automation tools; experience with WebDriverIO, Cucumber, and Gherkin preferredExecute manual and automated tests to identify and report defectsDesign and develop comprehensive test plans and test cases for both the frontend and backend of software systemsCollaborate with developers to reproduce and debug defectsParticipate in peer reviews of test cases and defects

You will have

Bachelor s degree in engineering, computer science or related fields, or equivalent professional work experience4+ years of experience with automation testing leveraging Javascript, preferably with WebDriverIO, Cucumber, and Gherkin preferred2+ years of experience with automated application testing in a professional enterprise settingExperience maintaining a suite of test artifacts and scripts in a well organized repository/catalogProficiency in planning for test automation as part of ongoing test activitiesExperience as part of an Agile teamGood written and verbal communication skillsGood analytical/problem solving skills ability to find bugs/defects quicklyExperience with automated and manual testing for large scale commercial applications with knowledge of retail or back-office concepts, is preferredStrong understanding of interfacing technologies and concepts, such as APIs, databases, and logging software, is preferredExperience with JIRA, Zephyr, or other testing tools, is preferredDemonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly, is preferred
