JOB SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse is responsible for independently planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care in patient care situations using standards of care. They provide direct nursing care to patients, assume teaching and leadership responsibilities, and participate in decision-making, unit committee, and quality improvement activities. This job offers a $20,000 sign-on bonus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop plans that include strategies to attain expected outcomes.
• Implement the plan of care interventions and medical plan of care as appropriate.
• Coordinate care delivery.
• Employ patient teaching to promote health and safety.
• Evaluate progress toward outcomes.
• Practice ethically and competently, reflecting current nursing practice.
• Integrate evidence and research finding into practice.
• Contribute to quality nursing practice and shared decision making (SDM) by supporting council decisions, implementation of decisions, and active participation in SDM.
• Communicate effectively in all areas of practice.
• Demonstrate leadership in the professional practice setting.
• Collaborate with patients, family, the inter-professional team, and others in the conduct of nursing practice.
• Utilize appropriate resources to plan and provide nursing services that are safe, effective, and financially responsible.
• Practice in an environmentally safe and healthy manner.
• Be accountable to foster, participate, and be knowledgeable with the shared decision-making model of the NCH Healthcare System.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Florida.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• All new to practice RNs will be placed into the RN Residency Program.
• Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
