Job description

Responsibilities / Tasks

  • Locally leads manufacturing/Production of a world class operations platform for GEA, allocate resources and prioritize initiatives.
  • Oversees management of all areas of Manufacturing to ensure that products are manufactured on schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives.
  • Ensures compliance with Company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, OSHA, safety, environmental regulations, and complete and on-time delivery of products at the lowest possible cost.
  • Accountable for all processes/teams associated with production in the plant.
  • Continuously improve productivity of GEAs production operations.
  • Act as internal contract manufacturer for plant.
  • Ensure adherence of quality/ HSE standards.
  • Actively monitor market and competition trends to identify opportunities for optimizations in operational excellence including standardization / modularization and continuous improvement programs.
  • Careful selection, targeted development and leadership of multiple teams with senior managers, managers and top production talents.
  • Strong focus on market trends and competitor developments to draw the right strategic and long-term conclusion with regards to the production function
  • Formulates and recommends manufacturing policies and programs which guide the Company in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation
  • Maintains operational inventory of material to support customer and financial requirements
  • Shape a cost and working capital effective production organization
  • Continuous optimization of production processes and structure (strategy, methods, tools, personnel development, etc.) and related key figures
  • Identification and realization of cost saving potential
  • Develops manufacturing long and short-range plans and objectives

Your Profile / Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
  • Seasoned manufacturing professional with significant experience in running an end-to-end local-plant production organization with a strong focus on integration of businesses and improving cost and performance efficiency
  • Industrial background within a larger global professional organization with a strong emphasis on engineering excellence and innovation
  • Deep practical know-how of state-of-the-art process organization methods and improvement tools
  • Experience in leading significant change management processes at local level within a global organization
  • In-depth understanding of the strategic role production plays within a manufacturing organization
  • Profound leadership skills, ability to lead & develop culturally diverse teams, systematically evaluate team performance
  • Strong entrepreneurial competencies
  • Personal drive and a good balance between being a hands-on manager and the ability to think and act strategically
  • Track record of having good business sense and judgment in making decisions
  • Intercultural experience and skills
  • Ability of influencing the team and all parts of the organization by power of persuasion, conviction and as well as by well-argued reasoning
  • Strong communicator, good net-worker and a well-respected executive
