The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is searching for a board-prepared or board-certified physician in psychiatry to treat male patients on a part-time or full-time basis on site at the Correctional Reception Center (CRC), located in the quaint community of Orient, 20 minutes southwest of Columbus. Depending on schedule and caseload, the psychiatrist may also be asked to provide telehealth services from this facility to patients at another institution. The selected psychiatrist will serve alongside another psychiatrist as well as psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioners as part of a comprehensive multi-disciplinary treatment team. The psychiatrist will have clinical support from a central advanced practice provider leadership team, to include a state psychiatry director and assistant state psychiatry director. Schedule: Weekdays; no holidays; full-time or part-time (minimum of 16 hours/week) with core hours between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and off-site emergency telephone call coverage

Job duties include:

* Working collaboratively with intra and interdepartmental staff to administer treatment for behavioral health patients utilizing nationally recognized treatment standards and documenting utilizing an electronic health record system

* Conducting exams and writing evaluations and reports

* Ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing

* Managing medication

* Making referrals for specialized care or treatment

* Performing duties in accordance with scope of practice, ODRC policies, procedures, protocols, and related ACA standards

* Participating in continuous quality improvement meetings and activities, including peer reviews

* Providing or sharing responsibilities of institutional 24-hour on-call as needed (provision of on-call services are included as part of the normal job duties and do not garner extra compensation)

* Engaging in collaborative agreements, as needed
