We are looking for an individual to join our team as a Retail Assistant Manager. The Assistant Retail Manager will work with the Retail Manager and team assisting customers with their purchases of feed, seed, and supplies for their farms, horses, livestock, pets, wildlife, lawns , and gardens. Customer service skills, product knowledge, and the ability to multitask are important for this position.

**JOB REQUIREMENTS:**

* Ability to lift 50 plus pounds

* Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time

* Valid drivers license

* Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices

* Exemplary communication skills

* Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision

* Ability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays

**Responsibilities**

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

Assist customers both in store and over the phone by providing exceptional customer service, including offering additional services and products to increase the value of each sale for both the customer and the business

Work with the Retail Manager on long-term and short-term goals for the store, inventory, and team members

Delegate work duties to team members and supervise daily store activities

Complete opening and closing the store, including reconciling registers, filling out deposit slips, maintaining the change drawer, and other duties

Maintain a positive attitude while focusing on customer satisfaction in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment

Follow standard operating procedures established by management, and adhere to company policies

Stock and maintain products in the store, including merchandising and re-organizing as needed

Ring up customers on the point-of-sale system, including handling money and change

Assist with inventory maintenance

Willingness and desire to learn more about the products and services offered company-wide

Help to maintain a clean and safe store environment, for both customers and employees

Fill in for the Retail Manager when they are unavailable.

Collaborate with the Marketing Team to promote company and store events and sales

Other duties as assigned **Experience**

Customer service/retail experience

High School Diploma

Experience or knowledge in agriculture, animal care, horticulture, or turf maintenance
