**Description**

**Position Summary:**

The Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Data Warehouse (DW) Developer will lead and perform complex analysis of the existing Totes data warehouse, the existing BI report structure and be responsible for ongoing development, support, and administration of all database environments.

This position requires immense knowledge and hands-on experience with BI and DW practices, development, implementations, reporting tools, report development, report improvements, data structures, data modeling, data warehousing, Structured Query Language (SQL), SQL Server, SQL tools, and Extract Transform and Load (ETL) tools.

In addition to very strong technical skills, this position will have superb business process analysis and strong interpersonal skills to work with leadership to provide technical solutions to support business needs. This will include extracting and analyzing data, integrating systems, synthesizing the data into information consumable by business decision makers, providing consultation, leadership, and mentoring on projects with functional as well as technical personnel.

This is both a tactical and strategic role, requiring the individual to be able to design and execute.

**Responsibilities:**

* Review, learn and update existing documentation on BI and DW

* Provide strategic and tactical solutions for business intelligence, data warehousing, and DBA

* Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and cross department teams in conceptualizing and developing new requirements, actionable data and insights, and enhancements

* Provide end to end support through requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and implementation

* Work on data projects to support application and reporting initiatives

* Make existing data warehouse, reporting tool and ETL process improvements for more accuracy and efficiency

* Design additional database schemas, tables, indexes, relationships, ETL processes using MS SQL Server stack

* Design, develop, test, and implement SSMS, SSRS, SSIS and other various ETL solutions for implementation for shared services between environments

* Design, develop, test, and implement additional reporting capabilities

* Support and assist in on-going maintenance of production databases and new databases to achieve desired performance

* Mentor other IT team members, providing documentation and learning experiences, sharing development opportunities

* Assists team members in day-to-day operations

* Adhere to change management procedures to mitigate the disruption of services to the business

* Adhere to Agile development methodology

* Adhere to, continue to develop, and improve Data Governance and DW standards

* Other assigned duties

**Qualifications:**

* Excellent understanding of, and vast experience with database structures, theories, principles, and practices

* Ability to enhance business efficiencies through both system performance initiatives as well as business process improvement

* Gather BI requirements from the business and translate into specifications, including tasks, timelines, and time estimates

* Must be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of business priorities

* Ability to prioritize and work on several tasks simultaneously

* Ability to maintain excellent work ethic, work independently, remotely, with minimal supervision

* Excellent written and communication skills.

* Must be able to teach and mentor peers

* Motivational skills to create team cohesiveness and to foster a positive team environment

**Education and Experience Required:**

* BS in Information Sciences, a related discipline or equivalent job experience

* SQL experience with expert-level skills in the SQL language, creating views and stored procedures, MS SQL Server Stack

* SQL DBA: 5-8 Years of SQL DBA

* SQL Development: 5-8 Years of SQL; Stored Procedures, Views, Constraint Checks, and Indexes

* SQL Management Studio, SSMS, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, ETL: 3-5 Years

* BI: 3-5 Years of Business Intelligence

* Architecture, Design, and Governance: 3-6 Years of Database Design, Database Modeling, Data Flow Diagrams, Normalization, Security (Database and Web), and Governance

* Preferred Methodology and Architecture: 2-5 Years of and Agile Development Methodology

* Preferred knowledge of Tableau visual analytics platform
