Job Title: Linux/Cloud Engineer

Department: Operations - Services

Reports To: RSekure Program Manager

Location: On-site in Chantilly, VA

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Hours: Full-time, 40-hours/week

Pay Type: Salaried, Contract

Clearance Req: TS/SCI - Full-Scope Polygraph

FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary

RSekure is seeking a mid-level Linux/Cloud Engineer in the Chantilly, VA area to work with our customer's technical team. An ideal candidate must possess demonstrated experience providing database tuning, integration, operations and maintenance support to the clients evolving Linux/AWS environment. This position will provide technical leadership and direction for the integration of requirements, design, and different technologies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Interact with the client regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues, or conflicts.
  • Design and define system architecture for new or existing computer systems.
  • Analyze customer's requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements and specifications.
  • Travel not required.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Critical Skills
  • Engineering experience with managing Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems.
  • Knowledge of security best practices in lockdown down, automating lockdown and documenting security configuration.
  • Proficiency with software provisioning, configuration management, and application - deployment tool enabling infrastructure as code using Ansible or a tool like puppet, Chef or Salt.
  • Working knowledge of monitoring tools such as Nagios, Grafana etc.
  • Experience with configuration of VMware, and vSphere, deployment of virtual machine instances.
  • Demonstrated experience with enterprise testing and lab environments, active directory, PKI infrastructure.
  • Apt problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Education and Work Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in a cloud engineering role or related positions.
Desired Certifications and Licenses
  • Any certification with cloud platforms such as Amazon, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Other relevant cyber certifications (CompTIA Sec+, Net+, etc.) are a bonus.
Special Requirements
  • TS/SCI clearance with a full-scope polygraph.
Work Environment

Employee will be working indoors in an office environment with other people. Typical indoor and computer related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis.

Physical Demands

To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, the employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; see to read printed materials and computer screens; mobility to work in a typical office setting. Ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and may be required to provide recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
