In this role, you will be a member of the 4WD Test and Foundation Department. You will bring powertrain components and technologies into our vehicles, ensuring that all marketability, reliability, regulatory, profitability, manufacturing, and test requirements and targets are achieved.

At the Engineer II career level, you are in charge of delivering defined engineering assignments (i.e. testing) with guidance, while expanding the breadth of your technical knowledge and starting to deepen your expertise.

At Honda, our associates take pride in their responsibilities. A typical day for a Drive Shaft Test Engineer will include:

* 50% Communicating test results and analysis through written reports, summaries, and small group meetings

* 30% Preparing and performing powertrain testing for vehicle developments, analyzing test and simulation data and summarizing results

* 20% Preparing countermeasure investigations and proposals

**Qualifications**

* A Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering

* 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education & experience required

* Experience with testing instrumentation and calibration, especially accelerometers, strain gauges, and thermocouples is preferred

* Proficient PC skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other technical software) and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.

* Ability to travel and work overtime may be required.

**Knowledge and Skills**

* Ability to complete assignments on time.

* Capacity to accurately prioritize assigned deliverables.

* Identify and communicate schedule related concerns for assigned parts and/or projects

* Ability to create appropriate countermeasures or solutions for related parts and projects
