As the Director of Operations (DoP), you will have the privilege of overseeing the full spectrum of technical operations excluding editorial matters. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this leadership role calls for someone capable of managing multiple aspects of technical operations, from production to creative endeavors, with a keen eye on the evolving landscape of cloud-based, automated broadcasting solutions.THE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU
  • Spearhead recruitment, mentoring, and development initiatives within your department, instilling a culture of accountability.
  • Guide and support managers and employees in the technical operation department.
  • Oversee and manage budgets, liaising closely with the Finance team for comprehensive budgeting, planning, reporting, and auditing activities.
  • Foster interdepartmental collaboration and communication to streamline the activities of technical staff across various operational areas.
  • Safeguard optimal utilization of current technology and ensure all staff are adequately trained.
  • Collaborate with internal and external editorial stakeholders to fulfill both current and future technological needs.
  • Guarantee the highest technical quality in all productions.
  • Oversee staffing, rostering, and the allocation of technical resources across different projects.
  • Lead real-time management of live broadcast impairments, implementing escalation protocols as required.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
  • Proven experience in senior technical operational management within the broadcasting industry, specifically with an emphasis on Broadcast Automation.
  • Exceptional organizational and leadership abilities, with an aptitude for managing diverse teams.
  • Familiarity with Sony ELC and/or Viz Mosart.
  • Hands-on experience with Robotic Cameras, particularly Vinten and Telemetrics.
  • Exposure to IP environments, especially 2110, will be advantageous.
  • Holistic understanding of modern cloud-based automated broadcasting solutions for effective problem-solving and strategizing.
  • Prior experience in implementing and enforcing workflow throughout a larger organization.
