Job description

We're hunting for a ServiceNow Architect. You'll come in and help us set up some guardrails and architect solutions on the ServiceNow platform. We don't need someone from the administrative/Infrastructure side of ServiceNow - you've got to have legit software engineering experience and are now doing ServiceNow architecture and development.

This is a 100% remote role, but you must be based in the United States, and we can pay up to $160K for the right person.



The main gig:
As our Lead Software Architect/Developer, you'll be the mastermind overseeing the architecture development and implementation of new software systems. You may also update existing software and run feasibility studies on our systems. We'll expect you to architect complex applications, build advanced reports, and mentor the junior dev crew. To rock this lead architect role, you need deep programming language knowledge and kick-ass project management skills.

The day-to-day:
50% Core Technology
- Use all sorts of dev tools and third-party stuff to architect, design, or modify software programs, websites, apps, and reporting functions
- Architect & develop new apps and upgrade existing ones, improving design/architecture for better performance, capabilities, and reliability
- Architect and code advanced programs and dev reports
- Conduct feasibility studies for software system upgrades and review any updates
- Create technical docs for new software
- Be involved in the full product dev lifecycle from architecture to delivery
- Follow dev specs and documentation standards
- Leverage experience, intuition, deep understanding, and the team's knowledge to deliver results aligned with IT objectives
- Participate in designing tech roadmaps
- Architect technical solutions

30% IT Internal Services
- Meet with dev managers to discuss software projects
- Lead team and user group meetings to facilitate and manage the software dev environment
- Support the desktop team with software installs, troubleshooting, etc.

10% End User Interaction
- Provide tech training, guidance, and support for end users and department staff

Some other responsibilities (5%):
- Stay up-to-date on new tools/tech, make enhancement recommendations
- Take on special projects as needed

What you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or 10 years of equivalent work experience
- ServiceNow Certified Master Architect, Certified App Developer, or Certified Implementation Specialist + 5+ years as a ServiceNow Architect
- Strong REST/SOAP integration experience is a must
- Experience with portal development
- Experience installing/maintaining ServiceNow apps using Source Code Management (App Studio)
- Proven skills designing and implementing complex custom ServiceNow solutions and integrations
- Extensive knowledge of ServiceNow architecture and IT service delivery
- Solid understanding of IT app dev processes with a programming background
- Expertise in agile development techniques and DevOps models
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Ability to work independently or in a team
- Ability to plan, solution, develop, and test with a product dev team
- Strong grasp of systems/software used across departments like IT, Underwriting, Claims, Risk, Customer Service, Finance, HR, etc.
