Position Overview

The Manager, School Administration and Operational Support partners with the Principal to attain operational success of the following functions: Administration, Student and Community Engagement, and Leadership and Development. The Manager, School Administration and Operational Support is responsible for overseeing the development of a high-performing administrative and operations team which responds to and anticipates the needs of the school in a timely and effective manner by establishing and maintaining processes and procedures that ensure high-quality administrative services to school staff, students, parents, and the community. This position is a safety-sensitive position. As a result, throughout employment this position will be subject to the Employee Mandatory Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy.

The Manager, School Administration and Operational Support will report to the Principal.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing of all responsibilities, duties, and/or skills required. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Analyzes management policies, practices, organizational directives, and office business practices and operations; and implements changes to promote efficient use of resources.
  • Ensures efficient operations of the school main office and manages school administrative support tasks, including greeting and addressing concerns of students, parents, and the community; and addressing telephone, email, and regular mail inquires.
  • Assists the Principal in budget preparation, in analyzing budgetary, personnel, and organizational impacts from a budget perspective in order to satisfy changing school requirements and to maximize school efficiencies, and in maintaining expenditure control.
  • Drives the gathering and analysis of data for internal and external reporting; and evaluates, on a quantitative and qualitative basis, the effectives of programs and special projects towards meeting established goals and objectives.
  • Maintains eligibility records for all student athletes, including: verifying that all eligibility information submitted by the coach is accurate and complete; ensuring all head coaches are informed of the most up-to-date student athlete eligibility; and ensuring that no ineligible students participate in an athletic contest.
  • Partners with school leadership to develop and execute new engagement initiatives to attract and retain new students and community members.
  • Acts as lead registrar in the student enrollment process, maintains accurate enrollment records, and submits reports as required.
  • Monitors student attendance, maintains accurate attendance records, and submits required reports.
  • Participates in student recruitment and engagement efforts for all grade levels, including visiting surrounding schools, events, open houses, and neighborhoods canvasing with fliers and brochures.
  • Develops strategy across multiple programs with clear, specific, and ambitious performance measures related to priorities; and coordinates and directs the work of school administrative and support staff based on volume, priorities, and strategic context.
  • Guides and coaches direct reports and other team members; and keeps staff informed of internal and external developments affecting their areas of responsibility.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree.
  • Previous exposure to or experience in the education sector a plus.
  • Previous exposure to or experience with urban school reform strongly preferred.
  • Ability to analyze data to inform work and decision making, analyze and evaluate available data, assess student needs, and develop and implement procedures and policies to support student achievement.
