Vbrick solutions integrate with and complement unified communications systems and provide the analytics and intelligence to maximize return on video investments.About the job:Vbrick is seeking an Assistant Controller that will manage the general accounting and financial reporting functions and play a key role in other financial administrative areas including balance sheet account reconciliations, general ledger (GL) activity and related journal entries. This role will manage day-to-day functions of the accounting team and assist with month-end and year-end activities, provide financial analysis, and assist the Controller in implementing and maintaining a system of business processes and internal controls that will ensure that the company assets are adequately safeguarded, as well as, provide accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.This role will work closely with the Controller in assuring accuracy and thoroughness of all accounting activity. This person should have technical accounting experience (inclusive of ASC 606) as well as knowledge of financial reporting. The Assistant Controller supports the Controller and plays a key role with the other members of the Accounting team. Vbrick is small company with a 5 person accounting team. Previous experience working for a small company would be beneficial.What you'll do:Manage day-to-day accounting function to include month-end and year-end close for the GL, account reconciliation review, accruals, journal entries, etc.Manage aspects of revenue recognition, accounts receivable/collections, and accounting processesCreate and post one-time and recurring journal entries, inclusive of consolidation entries for the US and foreign entityCreate reports and perform quarterly fluctuation analysis and other ad hoc duties as assignedAssist with accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements and/or other reports to be used by managementCollaborate with Controller in developing and documenting policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP, in order to maximize efficiency and turnaround timesTrain, develop, mentor, and motivate accounting team members in order to maintain a high level of employee commitment and self-reliant achievement of the company goals best practice and proceduresAssist with the external audit ensuring that all requested financial documents and information are available and delivered, as neededAssist the Controller with technical accounting research on new accounting standards, or application of existing accounting guidance to new client contracts and business needsWhat you'll bringBachelor's degree and 5-8 years of relevant experience, with some managerial experience preferredStrong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls and financial reportingNetSuite experienceAbility to work collaboratively across departmental functions and thrive in a dynamic environmentExcellent communication skills, ability to pivot across multiple tasks, and a "can do" attitude, a plusSoftware-as-a-service (SaaS) experience, a plusExperience in analyzing business performance, a plusCPA, a plusA little about us:Casual and flexible environment to encourage creativity and collaborationFlexible hours and 4 weeks of PTO to enjoy life!Competitive compensation, annual bonus program and generous benefitsStock options for all employeesVbrick is an equal opportunity employer.
