At GCI, we solve the hard problems. As a Project/Task Sr Manager a typical day will include the following duties:

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible for planning, monitoring and delivery of IT related customer focused projects within a large infrastructure environment. The candidate will work closely with various software engineering, infrastructure, and technical operations teams, as well as the customer to assess requirements, coordinate resources and deliver projects for our customer. The Project Manager must possess strong organizational, leadership, written and verbal communication skills while having the ability to articulate highly technical and complex project requirements to both customers and internal teams.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor s Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experienceMinimum 5 years of related experience, including supervisory experienceMust possess and maintain a U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security clearanceREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

Understanding of IT infrastructure elements and technologiesEffective management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyExcellent administrative and organizational skillsStrong leadership skillsOutstanding customer focus and service skillsDESIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

Professional certification (PMP) preferredKEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides technical, administrative, and operational management of assigned project tasks including contract and subcontractor management. Specifically,Function as the Infrastructure Operations Manager with specific responsibilities in the following areas:Infrastructure PlanningCapture Infrastructure Requirements-Facilitate communications to operations staffSponsor prioritiesSecurity EvaluationsUser issues/needs to operations staffTechnical direction/standardsProvide detailed operations reportingSolicit/summarize staff observationsRecommend Improvements-Input to initial grouping and scope developmentInput/participate in providing sponsor recommendations

Project Management/Systems EngineeringImplement Improvements-Support project lifecycle tasksSupport deconflicting project resourcesEstablish criteria for transition to operationsParticipate in post project evaluation

Manage OperationsDeliver and Support-Oversee operations staff and define and oversee operations processesChange/configuration managementInventory ManagementOversee Network/system maintenance

Supervises assigned staffingParticipates in the development of technical project plans, proposals, reports, and task order and administrative reportingMay also perform high level technical services on assigned tasksConducts planning and provides recommendations to client on task workloadAttends customer meetings and may serve as primary liaisonInteracts with vendors, other agencies, and other client staff on behalf of the clientCoordinates development of deliverables and productsEnsures quality assurance of project deliverablesMaintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assignedParticipates in special projects as required
