Description
Provides general clerical support to VA State office (copying, faxing, mailings, etc.);performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
Assures all visitors have been properly identified and announced and appropriate procedures have been followed.
Receives, places and routes phone calls in state office in a polite and professional manner.
Coordinates, processes and/or tracks incoming and outgoing mail/packages.
Enters applicants in HRIS database (ABRA) and sends appropriate documentation.
Schedules applicant interviews
Coordinates and/or orders office supplies for programs and state office based on PD request forms.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Secondary Functions:
Orders meeting food per requests from VA State personnel or per state meeting calendar.
Assists with accounts payable.
Assists with various activities related to the recruitment process and/or employee retention, including but not limited to,
Filing of employee and applicant documentation
Contacting applicants to secure missing information, etc.
Employee Recognition Program
Generates letters for Life Options quarterly reports
Assists Human Resource Generalist (HRG) with updates to the central mailing database.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required.
One (1) year previous administrative assistant/receptionist duties, or formal business or secretarial school certification may substitute for one year's experience.
