Who You Are
As the Deputy Director of Weatherization, you are a seasoned professional with over 10 years of experience in the weatherization industry in Maryland. With a background in construction or weatherization-related fields, you possess strong computer proficiency, effective decision-making and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in cross-departmental teams. Your commitment to client advocacy and outcomes, coupled with your knowledge of regulatory standards, makes you an ideal candidate for this crucial role.
What You'll Do
Quality Control and Audits: Perform an average of four to six Quality Control Inspections, in-process job visits, or Energy Audits per week to ensure compliance with program rules and standards.
Lead Generation and Marketing: Assist the Director in obtaining new leads for large projects or funding opportunities. Participate in marketing efforts to increase the lead base for weatherization projects.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure regulatory compliance of the Weatherization Department with program rules, guidelines, and policies.
Vendor Management: Manage vendor activities for specific vendors as instructed by the Director.
Client Eligibility Determination: Gather relevant information to determine client eligibility following guidelines established by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) or Maryland Energy Administration (MEA).
Project Coordination: Manage and coordinate weatherization projects from audit through completion, ensuring the least disruption for the client.
Data Management: Enter client data into the Hancock Energy Software program, determine eligible clients, and assign work orders to pre-selected contractors.
Documentation and Reporting: Prepare physical and electronic case files to document the weatherization process for each project. Ensure all required documentation is present and filed correctly for project completion and closeout.
Administrative Support: Serve as a backup in administrative roles within the Weatherization department when needed.
Other duties as required.
What You Bring
10+ years' experience in the weatherization industry in Maryland.
2+ years' experience directly in construction or weatherization-related fields or trades.
Strong computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to work in cross-departmental teams and complete tasks with numerous interruptions.
Analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and recommend action.
Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
Demonstrate compassion and respect for persons with economic challenges.
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and speak English.
Knowledge of regulatory standards.
Case management skills with a focus on client advocacy and outcomes.
Knowledge of governmental benefits, community programs, and other resources with the ability to access the same for clients.
(Preferred) Experience working with programs relating to the Department of Housing and Community Development.
