Develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards by performing the following duties.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Applies continuous improvement methods to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost-effectiveness.Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.Designs, develops, tests or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency improvement.Maintains product lines by implementing changes to improve manufacturability and increase production yield.Stay informed concerning Advanced manufacturing techniques and equipment in order to reduce cost through efficiencies.Analyze test data for qualification of products to Omega test standardsAbility to create and execute automated test scripts, using Omega in-house test system, Python, and/or other scripting languagesAbility to review and develop test plans for coding, testing, and debugging C/C++ system software.Ability to test and troubleshoot electronic circuits and hardware.Ability to develop and build test equipment and systemsMaintains product lines by implementing changes to improve manufacturability and increase production yield.Applies failure analysis to determine root causes of problems and failures and develops solutions or recommends changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods.Identifies opportunities or implements changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials, and parts.Coordinates all pre-production activities including sample evaluation, design qualification and prototype production.Provides documentation and detailed drawings for manufacturing and assembly of materials, assemblies and finished products.Prepares documentation for new manufacturing processes or engineering procedures and creates mechanical and electrical specifications for new sensor designs.Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.Determines parts supply, maintenance tasks, safety procedures, and service schedule required to maintain machines and equipment in prescribed condition.RequirementsEducation and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in Engineering or related field (mechanical/electrical preferable); 5+ years relevant manufacturing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Prior experience in application and test methods for load cell/sensor specifications highly desired.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
