This position is responsible for the management, support, and updates of voice and data communication systems, enterprise network stability and performance, and security systems. The position coordinates with leadership and other stakeholders to identify network needs and helping employees and other individuals to use the network effectively.Quick FactsReports to:

9% potential incentive of base payGrade: 12BCWhat you will doAdminister, monitor, and maintain the performance and reliability of network infrastructure remote access, collaboration solutions, and telecommunications infrastructure.Administer, monitor, and maintain the performance and reliability of security infrastructure including but not limited to establishing and enforcing firewall policies, virus protection, and installing and configuring network equipment.Coordinate with service providers for network, voice and data, and security infrastructure.Collaborate with system admins, system engineers, analysts, designers, and system owners troubleshooting, testing, and communicating infrastructure changes, upgrades, replacements, and user acceptance to stakeholders and sponsors.Provide recommendations to information technology management for upgrades, improvements, monitoring, and maintenance to maximize uptime and reliability.Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, procedures, and network diagrams for production and disaster recovery environments.Develop and maintain a schedule to conduct a regular review of firewall policies, network configurations, system maintenance, and analysis to optimize system performance against operational standards of response time, latency and down time.Collaborate with department and organizational stakeholders to develop and maintain the planning and testing of disaster recovery, business continuity, and incident response.Coordinate with information technology employees and management to design, implement, and maintain network access control and other security policies for authorized use of network, databases, and system access in accordance with policies.Plan, implement, and maintain hardware and network operating systems pre-installation testing procedures to ensure integrity and quality of all systems.Provide recommendations of hardware refresh and security posture changes.Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems.BASIC QUALIFICATIONSAssociate s degree in computer science, related field, or 5 years of IT/job experience.Three years experience in a high security environment (healthcare/government/financial).Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with colleagues, vendors, and end-users. Ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely.Troubleshooting and ability to diagnose and resolve issues using monitoring tools, packet analyzers, and command-line utilities.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes of network problems, implement effective solutions, and analyze performance data to recommend optimizations.Network certifications and ITILv4 foundations certification.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONBachelor s degree in computer science, related field, or 8 years of IT/job experience.Technical capacity understanding networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP).Strong understanding of network security principles and practices, including access control, encryption, authentication, and security policies.
