We are seeking a C++ Developer for a contract-to-hire role in Gaithersburg, MD. This role will be onsite in Gaithersburg Monday-Friday during normal business hours (there are no remote options). Due to the need to obtain a clearance in the future, this role will require U.S. Citizenship.

Job Description

This role will be joining an engineering team that develops server-side software using the latest tool chains from Atlassian in an agile software development environment and will be responsible for:
- Software design, development, integration and support activities
- Actively participate in software development and automated unit testing
- Complete development tasks within agreed time
- Analyze and resolve software issues
- BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of software design and development experience in C++ and automated unit testing
- 5+ years of experience with scripting languages (e.g. Python) and source control systems (e.g. Bitbucket)
- 2+ years of experience in network protocols, messaging libraries, and socket programming
- Must be capable of obtaining and holding a U.S. government security clearance
- MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Multi-threaded application development and inter-process communication
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker containers
- Ability to multi-task and work collaboratively within a team environment
- Experience with agile development framework (e.g. Scrum) and Atlassian tool chain (Jira/Confluence)
