Job description

** IT SPECIALIST (Applications Software/Customer Support)**

**Department of the Treasury**

This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, ENTERPRISE STRATEGIC PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT DIVISION. As an IT SPECIALIST (Applications Software/Customer Support), you will be responsible for: 1) IT governance, planning and program management for the Bureau's Manufacturing Execution System (MES); 2) serving as a technical expert to users and IT specialists on the MES; and 3) directing the work of contractors that perform MES operations, maintenance, and integration activities.

**Duties**

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-14. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. As a/an IT SPECIALIST (Applications Software/Customer Support), you will:

* Serve as the senior technical advisor assisting less experienced specialists in resolving very complex problems.

* Manage and direct tiered customer support or Oracle related issues for the Bureau.

* Serve as program manager overseeing activities of Oracle contractors and government IT staff that provide development, O&M and integration and enhancement support on the Oracle platform.

* Oversee the management of special projects that have a significant impact on the delivery of customer support services; e.g., infrastructure or work force relocation.

* Lead the Oracle customer support team in planning for the installation and implementation of upgrades to the existing Oracle applications.

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

**Specialized Experience:** For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service**.** Specialized experience for this position includes:

* Leading, researching, planning, designing, implementation, and testing of Oracle Enterprise Business Suite applications.

* Leading the monitoring, troubleshooting, reporting and root cause analysis of incidents, service requests and change requests.

Examples of such experience includes:

* Leading with the planning and design of Oracle Enterprise Business Suite applications database/systems; **OR**

* Researching, analyzing and correcting Oracle Enterprise Business Suite applications systems and/or applications; **OR**

* Experience providing customer support in reference to Oracle Enterprise Business Suite applications related issue.

**Specialized Experience:** For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service**.** Specialized experience for this position includes:

* Experience performing work that involves the research, planning, design, implementation, and testing of Oracle Enterprise Business Suite applications

* Experience in performing work that involves monitoring, troubleshooting, reporting and root cause analysis.

Examples of such experience includes:

* Planning and design of Oracle Enterprise Business Suite applications applications or systems; **OR**

* Serving as an IT Project Leader; **OR**

* Researching and analyzing methods and procedures to incorporate changes to existing IT systems.

**Specialized Experience:** For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service**.** Specialized experience for this position includes:

* Assisting with researching, planning, designing, implementation, and testing of IT systems and or applications.

Examples of such experience includes:

* Assisting with the planning and design of IT database/systems; **OR**

* Researching, analyzing and correcting IT systems and/or applications; **OR**

* Experience providing customer support in reference to IT related issue.

In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.1.
