GridIron IT is seeking a Senior Data Scientist local to Alexandria, VA.

Provide skilled contractor employee(s) that has either prior government experience as an ORSA/1515 or Data Scientist/1560, has completed ORSA-MAC training, or holds a graduate degree in operations research. They will require statistical experience, ability to analyze a variety of data sources, apply computational and machine learning methods to big data, possess some skills in scripting/coding/data handling, and have an ability to write clearly. The employee will work directly with the Government Supply Metrics Lead to build out recommendations, methodologies, and procedures to be used across the Department of Defense.

Analyzes existing and anticipated customer requirements and provides technical solutions that result in an integrated approach to program execution.
Analyze management information requirements to develop program or administrative reporting systems including the systems specifications, data gathering and analytical techniques, and systems evaluation methodology. Develop management and program evaluation plans, procedures, methodology, and establishes goals and plans to meet project objectives. Identifies and applies different data types to conduct analysis, assess quality, uncover new insights, improve workflows and outcomes, define new products, identify new data sources, and develop machine learning solutions to solve problems. Prepare reports using machine learning, programming, and data visualization skills to present organization findings.

- More than ten years of relevant experience.
Highly desired:
- Master's Degree in a relevant field.
- Ph. D. in a relevant field (can be substituted for two years of required experience)
- Experience as an Operations Research Systems Analyst/1515 or Data Scientist/1560, or completed ORSA-MAC training, or holds a graduate degree in operations research.
- Demonstrated statistical experience, ability to analyze a variety of data sources, apply computational and machine learning methods to big data, possess some skills in scripting/coding/data handling, and have an ability to write clearly.
- Demonstrated ability to build out recommendations, methodologies, and procedures to be used across the Department of Defense.
- Demonstrated ability to apply extensive technical expertise, spanning a range of logistical disciplines, in the development of unique and innovative solutions to challenging problems.
