Position SummaryDeloitte s Washington National Tax Multistate practice is looking for talent to work on cutting edge technical issues for some of the largest businesses in the U.S.What you ll doAs a Senior in our Washington National Tax practice, you will work with some of the leading experts in the country in all areas of multistate tax: corporate income tax, passthrough entity tax, and indirect tax. You will have direct client experience as well as working with the larger Deloitte multistate tax practice across the U.S. You will work on a variety of engagements, such as drafting tax opinions and memos, working on complex tax controversies, analyzing research issues across different jurisdictions, supporting Deloitte s eminence in external speaking and internal development, and much more.The TeamDeloitte Tax s Washington National Tax professionals are some of the most eminent state tax practitioners and come from a wealth of different backgrounds - public accounting, law firms, and government. We are fortunate to work alongside Deloitte s world-class multistate tax practice and frequently collaborate with federal and international tax experts as state tax continues to become one of the most dynamic areas of tax.QualificationsRequired:Excellent oral and written communication skillsSignificant experience in researching complex tax issues across a number of jurisdictionsOne of the following accreditations obtained, in process, or willing able to obtain:Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPAIf not CPA eligible:Licensed attorneyEnrolled AgentAbility to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you servePreferred:2+ years experience in state taxation in a law firm, state tax agency, or public accounting firm practiceStrong quantitative experience with tax modeling and/or tax return preparationFacility with technology and interest in collaborating in the development of new technologiesFor individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to California and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
