Job description

Briggs & Forrester Engineering Services are looking for an experienced Mechanical Site Manager / Site Supervisor.Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for managing the daily site operations effectively and efficiently, ensuring the project is delivered on time, whilst demonstrating full control of safety in the workplace. Additionally, provide accurate and concise information to the project management team. Typically, projects are located in around Liverpool, Manchester, and Leeds, although travel further afield may be required.Duties and responsibilities will include:SafetyDevelop/assist in the production of RAMS and the site safety file.Represent the company at safety meetings with the clients team and supply chain partners.Plan, manage and conduct site inductions, and maintain site safety inspections and records.Ensure competence of operatives for tasks they are required to carry out.Ensure all RAMS have been understood by all, and Proactively encourage workforce to engage with our safety processes.Conduct daily task briefings and record attendance/content.Report accidents in line with company safety policy, and conduct regular plant safety checks as required.ProductivityEnsure all works are carried out productively through the provision of clear concise information/instruction, well organised access, and requisite materials.Be responsible for producing accurate material take offs, and for providing accurate take off information to PM/QS for the purpose of cost forecasting.Raise requisitions and manage deliveries as required, including bulk material call offs and plant requirements.Assist in the development of all the project programmes and compilation of regular progress reporting.Keep accurate daily records of site activity, progress and issues via site diaries.ManagementManage the workforce, maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and demonstrates the values of Excellence at Every Level, Right First Time On Time, and Our Site Our Safety Our Lives.Manages own time keeping/attendance to adequately manage the subcontractors.Quickly identify performance issues with workforce and take responsibility for working with the subcontractor to manage accordingly.Develop/maintain high level of morale on site through appropriate engagement and effective communication.Effectively communicate between the workforce and the wider site management team.Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients.Be an ambassador for the company, always representing Briggs and Forrester professionally.Set up the inspection and defect management system according to how the project is intended to be visually inspected.Be responsible for the quality management of site installations.Ensure that all works are installed in accordance with project specifications, standards/ guidelines and quality control procedures.Support the PM to develop and maintain the inspection, test and commission plans and project quality control plans.Ensure that sub-contractors regularly and adequately check their works for quality compliance using Visual Inspections and that all issues are recorded.Be responsible for ensuring that all issues raised and closed out in a timely manner.Maintain record drawings of installed work.Ensure correct safety protection and safe means of isolation are applied as appropriate to all installed works.Ensure that all testing apparatus is within calibration and available for use.Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years experience from a Contracting background. Formal qualifications are not necessary, although an HNC/HND or similar a building services related qualification would be considered an advantage. Minimum Training requirement of SSSTS is required. A proven track record in a similar position is however considered essential.Package
