Sr Application Analyst

Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Plays a key role in the evaluation, planning, and development of application systems and system components.
    • Responsible for leading a comprehensive system/process analyses to assure requirements and capabilities are clearly understood and documented.
    • Participates in workflow analysis and system configuration.
  • Has a significant role in the successful implementation and maintenance of application systems and system components.
    • Has responsibility for user administration and end-user training.
    • Responsible for identifying misalignment issues and coordinating the definition of required system and/or process changes.
    • Engage internal stakeholders with identifying clinical/business work process changes and coordinate change management procedures to implement within the impacted system(s).
    • Responsible for leading the development of test plans and test cases, executes system tests, analyzes and documents test results.
    • Responsible for identifying and maintaining application system configuration settings and user permissions.
  • Provides effective leadership, communication, and training for application systems and system components.
    • Is responsible for troubleshooting and/or researching issues as needed to expedite resolution and maintain/restore system availability.
    • Responsible for leading the development and delivery of system demonstrations and training to end users and other team members as required.
    • Leads small teams on moderate and high complexity projects, defining tasks and associated level of effort with precision.
    • Takes responsibility for communicating project, task and deliverable status to project team and internal customers on a timely basis.
Requires:
  • Position requires a Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field of study and 5 years experience OR a Master s degree and 2 years experience. Additional years of equivalent education or related experience in the technology industry may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • A systems analyst or business analyst certification from the International Institute of Business Analysis, PMI or an accredited university is preferred.
  • Position requires direct work experience utilizing systems workflows, system analysis and documentation preferably in a healthcare setting, which includes:
    • Demonstrated proficiency and experience with applications/workflows and system implementations;
  • An in depth understanding of the overall operations of an enterprise class health care service provider
  • Previous experience with one or more Sheppard Pratt core application systems is preferred; as is experience with an electronic health record solution.
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to train others, proven customer focus as demonstrated by professional demeanor, positive attitude and service orientation, proven collaboration skills and experience working in a team-oriented environment, and the ability to effectively interface and build professional working relationships with all levels of employees including staff, senior leaders, and providers.
  • Requires proven problem-solving and conceptual skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced changing environment, and the ability to handle multiple priorities with demanding timeframes.
  • Experience with report writing in supported applications (such as Microsoft SQL Reporting Services, Oracle Fusion) preferred
