Analyze the planning, design, development, and implementation of system and network engineering plans for our Intelligence Community customers.
Monitor all activities of the network facilities and ensure high quality data transmission.
Provide technical support for all customer facing engagements/interactions, including receipt of specifications, design, test, and response to service requests.
Debug and test networks, analyze technical projects, perform needs assessments, analyze and/or oversee cost and benefit estimates, presentations, negotiations, installations, problem resolutions, procurements, and multi-vendor product integration.
Provide initial engineering and implementation support of networks to assure proper execution and provides resolution for system failures or degradations, as needed.
Provide project management and documentation, as required.
It is expected that the candidate will at times participate in, and / or facilitate stakeholder meetings as required.
Proven ability to delegate tasks, comprehensively and in parts is necessary to be successful in this environment.
Required Skills:
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
BA or BS degree in CS or 8 years of experience with network administration in lieu of a degree
4 years of experience with network/system administration
Experience with maintaining VMware ESXi hosts and virtual machines (VMs)
Experience with maintaining Network Appliance (Netapp) storage arrays or technologies
Experience with maintaining a Windows 7 or Windows 10 desktop environment
Experience with maintaining a Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy environment
Experience with maintaining a Linux environment, including CENTOS, REdhat/RHEL, or SUSE
Experience with basic containerization technologies like Docker and/or Podman
Experience with Oracle Hardware and Solaris OS (x86 and SPARC).
Experience with facilitating and/or implementing Information Security Best Practices (patching, IAVA remediation, POA&M development, other security compliance initiatives)
Ability to maintain software development infrastructure supporting multiple environments (networks) in a fast-paced, highly technical environment
Ability to take initiative and make recommendations on existing infrastructures
Ability to be a self-starter
Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
Desired Skills:
Experience with maintaining and administration of Cisco networking switches
Experience with maintaining network cabling infrastructure, including copper and fiber cabling
Experience with Splunk logging
Experience with NESSUS vulnerability scanning
Familiarity with Kanban / Agile methodologies
Familiarity with Jira, Redmine, other project management applications
