Job description
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- Design stable, reliable, and effective databases
- Optimize and maintain legacy systems
- Modify databases according to requests and perform tests
- Solve database usage issues and malfunctions
- Liaise with developers to improve applications and establish best practices
- Gather user requirements and identify new features
- Develop technical and training manuals
- Provide data management support to users
- Ensure all database programs meet company and performance requirements
- Research and suggest new database products, services and protocols
- 5+ years' experience in a data position (DBA, Data Architect, Data Engineer, Data Developer)
- In-depth understanding of data management (e.g. permissions, recovery, security, and monitoring)
- Experience with software development - creating normalized transactional databases for web applications
- Hands on experience with T-SQL (SQL Server), ANSI SQL and Microsoft Azure
- Familiarity working with PowerShell and JavaScript
- Excellent analytical and organization skills
- An ability to understand front-end user requirements and a problem-solving attitude
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. SSRS, PowerBI, R)
- Proven ability to design and implement Extract, Transformation and Loading processes (using SSIS)
- Demonstrated success working in large technology initiatives with enterprise level impact
- Functions well in a team environment.
- High degree of initiative, self-motivation, and creativity with proven ability to coordinate with peers
- Excellent verbal and written skills; technically astute, and up to date on latest technologies
- Familiarity with enterprise data governance strategies
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field (Preferred)
- 2+ years' experience with Agile Framework (Preferred)
