EOEResponsibilities of the School Social Worker include:Providing psycho-educational and social-emotional services to students and families of students enrolled in KTSStudent counseling - both group and individualProviding parent support groups, family system assessments and parent conferencesAttending interdisciplinary team meetings, integration into the classrooms, liaison with community agencies and providing play therapyAppropriate clinical record keeping to ensure that school standards for clinical accountability/quality programming are upheldRequirements for the School Social Worker:A master's degree in social workAn active license as an LCSW or LMSW in the state of Maryland or qualify at time of hire for licensure by endorsement (actively licensed in another state)Experience with educational agencies and interdisciplinary teams is preferredClinical experience in school social work and/or play therapyExperience with early childhood, developmental and behavioral approaches requiredEffective oral and written communication skillsInterpersonal skills that bring about effective communication and positive interactions with studentsKnowledge base regarding LD and ASD school populationsAs a condition of employment, all employees are required to have received at least the first dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or the single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
