Infrastructure Specialist 3 (Hybrid Eligible)

What You'll Do:
Ohio Department of Public Safety - Director's Office/Information Technology (Infrastructure & Database)
Report in location: 1970 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43223
Work hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm (On call 24 hrs/7 days)
(CURRENTLY HYBRID ELIGIBLE) Report into the office one day a month (May be subject to change)

PRIMARY TECHNOLOGY: Microsoft Azure
SECONDARY TECHNOLOGY: Amazon Web Services

In collaboration with the State's infrastructure service provider (e.g. OIT), provide the requisite specifications to build & maintain cloud infrastructures, websites, applications, services & data-bases on all environment platforms (development, integration/system testing, QA/UAT & production); Deploy custom & commercial off the shelf (COTS) applications on all environment platforms & report results to application development staff & management; Assist application development staff with trouble-shooting deployment issues.

Ensure the successful processing of the applications supporting the mission of the Department of Public Safety; Measure & monitor the performance of the DPS applications; Provide in-formation on performance to software developers, database administrators, security, business area, & the State's infrastructure service provider; Work with the above sections to resolve any issues disrupting DPS processing.

Work with State infrastructure service provider, software developers, database administrators, security, business area, & other project team members to improve the processes supporting DPS; Train/learn & integrate new technology.

Participate in meetings to define the technical requirements for applications supporting the mission of the Department of Public Safety (DPS); Input will be from software developers, database administrators, security, business areas, & other project team members.

Job duty, knowledge, skill, and ability statements at a low-er-level are understood to be able to be performed at any higher level.

Qualifications
60 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: evaluating effectiveness and risk of it processes, recommending changes in IT procedures to meet customer needs, and evaluating and/or researching hardware and/or software solutions and providing feedback to project team or higher-level staff including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.

-Or completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems; 42 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: evaluating effectiveness and risk of it processes, recommending changes in IT procedures to meet customer needs, and evaluating and/or researching hardware and/or software solutions and providing feedback to project team or higher-level staff including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems; 36 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: evaluating effectiveness and risk of it processes, recommending changes in IT procedures to meet customer needs, and evaluating and/or researching hardware and/or software solutions and providing feedback to project team or higher-level staff including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.

-Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
