Job description

We're in search of a Data QA Engineer with a meticulous eye for detail and a penchant for analytical thinking to join our team. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions. As a Data QA Engineer, you'll focus on validating data pipelines and guaranteeing the accuracy of our datasets. Collaboration with our cross-functional development team will be key as we strive for the highest standards of quality.

Your responsibilities will include crafting and executing test strategies, managing test data, and implementing testing methodologies to uphold quality and performance standards. We're looking for someone who can bring innovation, research skills, and a creative mindset to the table.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Application and Data development team to devise and implement testing strategies.
  • Utilize automated tools to test extensive datasets within SQL Server databases.
  • Automate data testing processes wherever feasible.
  • Assess and produce Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Imaging (DICOM) and clinical data ingestion pipelines.
  • Partner closely with Business Analysts, Data and Operations teams, and Development throughout the test planning and execution phases.
  • Review business requirements, functional specifications, and design documents to create comprehensive test plans.
  • Identify and address gaps by assisting in QA discovery or analysis, facilitating requirements refinements.
  • Participate in design and SQL code reviews to ensure testability and adherence to quality standards.
  • Plan and execute Manual, Functional, and Regression test suites.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science or related field.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in Test Strategy, Test Design, Test Execution analysis & reporting.
  • Expert-level experience (2 years) in testing and automating testing of extensive data sets within SQL Server databases.
  • Proficiency in writing queries in relational databases like SQL Server and MySQL, including stored procedures, functions, views, and indexes for ETL processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of developing SQL scripts using SQL functions, grouping operations, subqueries, analytical functions, and joins for testing ETL projects.
  • Experience in testing database applications to validate source-to-destination data movement and transformation.
  • Knowledge of Health Level 7 (HL7) & DICOM standards and interoperability.
  • Working knowledge of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Familiarity with working in AWS RDS, Athena, and Redshift environments.
