Computer Network Defense Analyst
BizFirst is currently assisting our client in hiring for a full-time Cybersecurity CND Analyst position. This role offers the option of a compressed work week, allowing candidates to choose between 4 days of 10-hour shifts or 5 days of 8-hour shifts for enhanced flexibility.
- Hybrid Work Environment: The position adopts a hybrid work model, requiring employees to be onsite for two days and remote for three days each week. Onsite locations include DLA offices in Columbus, OH; Fort Belvoir, VA; or Battle Creek, MI. (Whichever is near for you)
- Training and Onboarding Schedule: The initial training and onboarding phase spans approximately 2-3 months. During this period, new analysts are expected to be onsite five days a week, working standard 8-hour shifts from 8 am to 4:30 pm.
- Shift Schedule: Following the completion of the training period, the role transitions to a 3rd shift schedule, with flexible hours typically spanning from 11 pm to 7 am. This arrangement allows for 4 days of 10-hour shifts per week, with the option to flex the remaining two hours around the core 8-hour shift.
As a Computer Network Defense Analyst, your key responsibilities will include:
- Implement proactive measures to guard, analyze, and mitigate unauthorized activities within DLA's information systems and networks.
- Expertly manage CND compliance, employing advanced tools and techniques for comprehensive threat analysis and incident response.
- Conduct meticulous monitoring of cybersecurity tools, adeptly handling alerts and coordinating incident responses.
- Engage in proactive threat hunting to detect and counteract emerging cybersecurity risks.
To be successful in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
- Top Secret security clearance required with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.
- Minimum of five years in relevant roles or equivalent formal education.
- Proven expertise in network traffic analysis, system log examination, and root cause identification of cybersecurity events/incidents.
- Proficient in written/verbal communication for effective incident documentation and briefing.
- Proficient in at least two cybersecurity domains.
- Knowledgeable in scripting languages (Perl, Bash, Powershell, Ruby, Python).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- DOD Approved 8570/8140 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level II.
- DOD Approved 8570/8140 CSSP Certification: CSSP-IR.
