Should your employment end for any reason (either voluntarily or through a Reduction in Force), you will no longer be eligible for summer employment.The academic dean has primary responsibility for supervising the academic staff, coordinating the academic program, ensuring the quality of instruction, and addressing student performance issues for the Bright Minds Academy summer program. This program is in person, operating M-Th from 7:45AM-3:45PMEssential Functions

Serve as elementary teacher of record for the classroom.Conduct formal and informal classroom observations and provide feedback and coaching on teaching strategies and classroom management.Collaborates with curriculum writers to resolve any concerns with content or implementation of curriculum.Address student performance issues and oversee the creation of student evaluations.Provide logistical support for field trips, class projects, and other presentations.Assume the Site or Assistant Director's responsibilities in the Site or Assistant Director's absence when requested.Performs and promotes all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies; follows federal laws, state laws, school board polices and the professional standards.

Desired Qualifications

Active full time employee of Baltimore City Public Schools for the 2023-2024 School YearPossession of all appropriate licenses, certificates, and contracts for the 2023-2024 school year (non-renewals, expiring certifications, separations including retirees will not be considered for summer school employment).Prior experience and interest in one or more of the following areas:Gifted InstructionEnrichmentWorking with intellectually advanced elementary studentAcceptable rating by school principal/administrator (to be completed electronically by your school principal after you have submitted a completed application online).Certification in elementary education, special education, and/or ESOLProficient in the use of technical computer applications, including Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint.Excellent oral and written communications and human relations skillsFull time or Part time
