Glen Ayr Resort is a nestled on the serene shores of Hood Canal. With over 700 feet of private beachfront, our resort offers unparalleled natural beauty and a tranquil atmosphere. We pride ourselves on providing top-notch lodging options, including waterfront and water view king and queen rooms, as well as one and two-bedroom suites. Additionally, our RV park boasts deluxe creekside and pull-through sites, perfect for guests seeking a relaxing getaway amidst stunning scenery.

What you ll do:

The Brass Tacks

Provide strategic leadership and direction to all departments within the resort, including lodging, RV park, and guest services.Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and superior customer service.Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective management of all resort facilities and amenities.Uphold standards of cleanliness, guest satisfaction.Maintain online and digital reviews. Respond to guest reviews. Maintain 4-5 stars.Oversee all aspects of guest satisfaction, including reservation management, check-in/check-out procedures, and resolution of guest concerns or complaints.Manage budgetary goals and financial performance, including revenue generation, expense control, and profitability analysis.Supervise staff recruitment, training, and development initiatives to ensure a high-performing team capable of delivering exceptional service.Handle all employee scheduling.Identify ways to improve the guest experienceHaving a presence at the resort touching base with guests and staffBe a model for the employees, exemplifying a mature culture. It is understood that the GM will lead by example.Discrete with privileged informationRedirect unproductive behavior to be circular and collaborative ensuring day to day experience and operations mirror the culture and brandFocus on retention of employeesPerform basic maintenance duties on siteMonitor employee time clock checking. Check for errors.Maintain compliance with regulatory standards, health and safety protocols, and industry best practices.Cultivate relationships with local vendors, suppliers, and community partners to enhance the resort's offerings and reputation.Stay abreast of industry trends and market conditions to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.

The Nitty Gritty

Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in hotel/resort management, with a proven track record of leadership success.Strong understanding of hospitality operations, including front desk management, housekeeping, revenue management, maintenance, and food and beverage services.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, staff, and stakeholders at all levels.Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a focus on delivering results.Proficiency in property management systems (PMS), point of sale (POS) systems, and other relevant software applications.Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
