Job description

Connelly School of the Holy Child is seeking a passionate and dynamic individual to fill the role of Director of Community Engagement & Inclusion. As the Director of Community Engagement & Inclusion, you will lead and implement initiatives that promote diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging within the Holy Child community and beyond. This role requires a strong leader who is committed to fostering an inclusive environment and building relationships with various stakeholders, especially students and parents. This position reports to the Head of Mission and Ministry.

Key Responsibilities:

Community Engagement & Outreach
  • Develop and implement programs and initiatives to strengthen community engagement and foster a culture of inclusivity.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Mission, faculty, staff, parents, and students to promote and support diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts aligned with the goals of the Holy Child Network of Schools.
  • Engage with external organizations and community partners to build relationships and enhance community outreach programs.
  • Plan and organize events, workshops, and trainings that promote cultural competency, social justice, and inclusion.
  • Communicate and disseminate information related to diversity, equity, and inclusion to the school community through various channels.
  • Participate actively in the life of the school especially outside of the classroom through attendance at community events including in athletics, the arts, and campus ministry including outside of school time.

Curriculum Development & Support
  • Collaborate with faculty and administrators to integrate diversity, equity, and inclusion into the curriculum and school programs across middle school and upper school divisions.
  • Provide resources, support, and professional development opportunities for faculty to enhance their cultural competency and inclusive teaching practices.

Campus Climate & Student Support
  • Work closely with the student life team to ensure a positive and inclusive campus climate for all community members.
  • Support students in their social-emotional development and promote a sense of belonging.
  • Facilitate student affinity groups alongside faculty and staff partners.
  • Collaborate with the counseling team to provide resources and support for students facing diversity-related challenges.

Partnerships & Collaboration
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with local organizations and community leaders to enhance diversity and inclusion efforts.
  • Collaborate with other schools and organizations to share best practices and resources.
  • Stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging in education.
  • Represent the school at conferences, events, and meetings related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

Requirements

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion work, preferably in an educational or nonprofit setting.
  • Strong understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion concepts, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Experience developing and implementing diversity and inclusion initiatives/resources.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead and facilitate workshops and trainings on diversity, equity, and inclusion topics.
  • Collaborative and inclusive leadership style.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
  • Knowledge of current research and trends in diversity, equity, and inclusion in education.
  • Familiarity with laws and regulations related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive community.
