Summary:

Our clients are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Associate General Counsel (AGC) to join our growing legal team. The ideal candidate will be a skilled attorney with experience in the Investment Management space, a strong understanding of relevant regulations, and a passion for providing exceptional legal counsel. In this role, you will play a key role in supporting the company's business objectives by providing comprehensive legal advice and representation on a variety of matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business units across the organization to identify, analyze, and mitigate the legal risks associated with company services.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including customer contracts, vendor agreements, and regulatory filings.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare comprehensive legal opinions on complex matters.
  • Manage and supervise outside counsel relationships as needed.
  • Represent the company in regulatory inquiries and investigations.
  • Ensure adherence to all legal and compliance policies and procedures.
  • Advise on the appropriate structure and documentation for the company's new products and services.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of legal training programs for internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications:

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience practising law within a firm or financial institution industry.
  • Licensing requirements: Must be a member in good standing of the bar in the state of Ohio
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant financial services laws and regulations.
  • Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex legal agreements.
  • Experience with managing outside counsel relationships.
  • Strong understanding of corporate governance principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
