**Safety Manager**

**The Opportunity**

We are on the hunt for a collaborative, strategic, and supportive **Safety Manager**. Located in **Harrison, OH,** this role will provide leadership, planning, training, technical direction, communication, and coaching skills to ensure safety procedures and processes meet internal and external customer needs in the most cost effective and safe manner. This leadership role will drive our safety initiatives for multiple locations, while ensuring regulatory and legal compliance are met.

**Overview of Key Duties & Responsibilities**

* Directs the Safety initiatives at all locations.

* Focuses on company-wide issues and inter-departmental or branch/project initiatives including developing policies, procedures, synergies, and business opportunities to optimize safety.

* Builds and retains a customer and safety focused environment, including internal and external customers.

* Communicates the needs of all safety operations functions to the Executive and Management teams on an as needed basis.

* Develops and analyzes new methods of reducing costs, avoiding lost time, mitigating risk, while assuring a safe working environment.

**Qualifications/Skills and Attributes**

* Prior experience and a proven track record in a Safety leadership capacity to include overseeing, environmental, health and safety initiatives.

* Experience within the industrial construction/rental industry is a plus.

* Certification by recognized professional bodies preferred and/or coursework indicating advanced and ongoing professional development.

* Ability to lead cross-functional teams, effectively communicate and interact with all levels of the organization including customers, operations, and project site personnel, as it relates to safety.

* Thorough knowledge of local and federal health and safety standards and regulations, including DOT, OHSA and Workers Compensation.

* Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills required, with ability to respond to inquiries at all levels.

* Excellent time management skills/abilities while being results-oriented with a strong attention to detail/follow-up. Flexible and able to change focus as needs/workload dictates.

* Must always display a professional demeanor, while maintaining creditability and trustworthiness amongst both internal/external customers.

* Solid problem-solving skills, with ability to provide timely and workable solutions.

* Able to exercise discretion and independent judgment, while working independently with minimal direction.

* Superior follow-up skills, persistent and results oriented.

* Committed to quality and service excellence.

* Able to travel (50%), with overnight stays required - Availability as requested/required for after-hour emergency calls and necessary overtime as the workload dictates, which may include some weekends.
