Position Title: Staff Licensed Practical Nurse



Copper Ridge is recruiting for a nurse to fill an LPN role in a skilled nursing facility setting. The charge nurse is a staff nurse position that has direct care responsibilities as well as supervising responsibilities. Duties:


Observe and monitor residents health and assess their needs to provide quality care


Work with physicians to create individual care plans and assist them during required operations or procedures


Maintain complete healthcare records and reports including PCC being utilized according to best practices.


Supervise, manage, and assist in training CMAs and GNAs on staff


Perform routine procedures as needed, including administering medication and injections, and provide emergency medical care when necessary


Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness within the facility


Collaborates with DON in maintaining adequate staffing coverage


Effectively utilizes existing manpower to limit the amount of overtime/agency needed to support staffing


Assess work performance of nursing staff while on duty ensuring timeliness in services to our patients/residents


Maintain security of the facility, creating an environment that is respectful, team-oriented, and responsive to the needs of our staff, patients, and their families


Monitoring nursing care to reduce hospitalizations and ensure positive outcomes.


Encourages shift to shift communication between incoming and outgoing nursing staff.


Reviews prospective Admissions in relation to existing nursing capabilities and ensures readiness to treat.


Ensure that patient's attending physician and family or responsible party are promptly notified of any significant change in the patient health condition.


Investigates patient/family complaints and takes appropriate actions to bring to resolution.



Requirements:


Current state LPN


BLS/CPR certification


In-depth knowledge of nursing care methods and health and safety guidelines


Responsible and compassionate with outstanding organizational and communication skills


Experience supervising GNAs and CMAs in a nursing home setting
