SUMMARY
Contributes to Columbus Humane's mission and vision by assisting in the administrative functions required for volunteer programs. Assists prospective and current volunteers with general volunteer questions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Thinks, communicates, and acts in the best interest of Columbus Humane and our human and animal clients at all times; models our mission and values in all job-related functions.
- Assists in preparing materials for STEPS volunteer classes.
- Monitors and responds to inquiries in Volunteer email mailbox.
- Schedules group volunteer opportunities and assists during their experience as needed.
- Provides volunteers with support and guidance to maintain a professional work environment.
- Proactively monitors volunteer schedule and communicates needs to Volunteer Programs Manager (VPM)
- Promotes safe work practices for volunteers including instructing on appropriate animal handling, techniques, procedures, and incident reporting.
- Assists in scheduling volunteers for special events, attends events as required.
- Works in partnership with VPM to ensure accurate and timely data entry into Volgistics.
- Participates in volunteer recruitment fairs and other activities throughout the community.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- History of developing authentic relationships with colleagues and volunteers.
- Basic computer and administrative skills. Volgistics and PetPoint proficiency a plus.
- Animal care and handling skills a plus.
- Passionate belief in Columbus Humane's vision, mission, and values.?
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
