About the Role:
We're searching for an experienced analyst to join Remitly's Lending team, reporting to our Director of Credit Analytics & Strategy. You will own the financial assessment of various lending products and credit strategies across customer acquisitions and management, with an eye toward maximizing integrated customer value including remittances.
This is a zero to one opportunity, creating Remitly's lending business from scratch! You will be a crucial player in shaping the strategy and customer experience for our new lending products. You will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, solving a very rich set of challenges with internal and external partners. This is a chance for you to bring and continue to build your credit analytics experience, while expanding your horizon with Remitly's global focus.
This role is based in Arlington, VA (Washington DC metro area).

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $128,00$160,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan. You Will:
- Define the key performance assumptions and KPIs needed to drive the desired economic returns and resilience of our lending products
- Collaborate with product and engineering in conceptualizing new products and drive the economic viability and sustainability of these new products
- Build LTV models for our lending products, including integrated remittance value of our customers
- Define and execute experiments to ground key performance assumptions, and drive business decisions including customer segmentation and underwriting policy for new and existing customers
- Evaluate new data sources that can improve customer segmentation and underwriting
- Create and communicate business and financial performance metrics for our credit products, acquisitions and portfolio performance
You Have:
- Degree in a quantitative field (economics, statistics, mathematics, science, engineering, etc.)
- 5+ years of experience in an analytics role driving financial business decisions
- 3+ years of experience in a consumer or small business lending business driving strategies using model based automated customer segmentation and underwriting
- Analytical and integrated thinking skills
- Experience with SQL, scripting languages like Python/R for analyses & modeling, dashboarding technologies like Tableau/Mode/other for ongoing monitoring.
- Comfortable with statistical concepts & tools (such as linear/logistic regression, time series methods, experimental methods)
