Description

The successful candidate will be a strategic and forward thinking accounting professional. The Accounting Manager is responsible for proactively managing their day-to-day responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have experience partnering with a diverse accounting team in developing financial strategy and monitoring on-going performance. He/she will provide input and leadership on decisionmaking issues affecting the company. This individual must have solid general business acumen outstanding leadership skills, an open and direct communication style and the ability to partner with, and understand the needs of others in the organization. Overview of Job Responsibilities:

Ensures that monthly activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner (i.e. client statements, payroll, month end close, month end reconciliations of account balances, etc.)

Partners with the Director of Accounting with the creation of policies and procedures, internal controls, and other corporate initiatives

Collaborates with department heads and peer group in support of overall department goals and objectives.

Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Advises accounting staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions (i.e. contractual changes)

Works with the Director to ensure a clean and timely year end audit.

Supervise the accounting group to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.

Provide training and coaching to new and existing staff as needed.

Handle personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, etc.

Work with assigned direct reports to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.

Qualifications

Required Experience
A bachelor's degree in accounting, MBA, or CPA ispreferred.
3 - 5 years of progressive accounting experience within the parking industry (highly preferred) or similar organization.

Highly competitive candidates will possess Microsoft Dynamics (GP) and SharePoint experience.
Ability to analyze, communicate, and present information accurately and succinctly.
Self-motivated and proactive, both concerning managing workload and own professional development.
Capable of meeting deadlines and paying attention to detail.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
High proficiency with electronic spreadsheets, word processing, and Microsoft Office applications.
