A fast-paced DC law firm is seeking a Chief Operating Officer. Work closely with the firm's Managing Partner to manage the firm s day-to-day operations and coordinate administrative and executive matters for a boutique law office. The COO will oversee the accounting/finance, HR, IT, business administration, facilities and support staff functions.
Prior and/or current management experience including working with vendors, brokers, CPAs and/or outside counsel.
This position provides an exciting opportunity to grow along with the firm and impact policies and direction for a quickly expanding practice. The successful candidate will become part of a dynamic team of legal professionals who are passionate about representing clients in complex medical litigation claims.
The COO will be responsible for overseeing the firm's associate attorneys, providing insight and guidance and working directly with the firm's managing partner to provide daily oversight and management of all administration and firm operations.
Duties and responsibilities
Works closely with the Managing Partner and senior attorneys to coordinate the firm s business, finance, and marketing and collaborates with management to provide strategic planning and oversight
Recruits, onboards, supervises, and manages the performance of all attorneys and staff
Oversees various HR functions to include personnel, benefits, payroll management, and policy implementation
Coordinates, monitors, and improves key operating systems, internal policies, external policies and procedures in direct and close consultation with the Managing Partner
Ensures firm operations are positioned to facilitate optimal production while maximizing potential for growth
Prior and/or current management experience including working with vendors, brokers, CPAs and/or outside counsel.
7+ years of related experience is required.
