Primary Function

Candidates with the active specified government clearances who understand and are experienced in deploying applications into a Top-Secret government cloud and in systems administration who want to expand their skills and knowledge to include accessibility. The Devops Engineer Embedded Client will work onsite at our government client site to complete the initial deployment of the ARC tool into the AWS Cloud environment and subsequently serve as administrator for the tool along with supporting and deploying future updates. This role provides required support working collaboratively with our government client to ensure ARC is functioning properly and to configure, test, and deploy future updates. In addition, the role will provide support to administer the tool, including setting up workspaces, scans, users, groups, and other ARC platform configurations that are required for accessibility audits. This initiative is essential to ensuring that the digital offerings conform with the standards of accessibility and maximize the usability for users with disabilities. It is expected that onsite work will be approximately 2 to 3 days per week.


In addition to supporting the ARC deployment at the onsite IC client, the Devops Engineer will also support the needs of the commercially available ARC cloud platform. This work will be done remotely and will be approximately 2 to 3 days per week.


The successful candidate must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and demonstrate the ability to prioritize and multi-task a variety of demanding assignments.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Have an active IC TS / SCI security clearance with full polygraph
  • Be willing to work part time onsite in Northern Virginia and part time remotely
  • Hands-on technical expertise and experience developing back-end AWS infrastructure as code using AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) for services such as ECS, EC2, EKS, RDS, and Cloudwatch
  • Experience with Terraform a plus
  • Experience with advanced orchestration on AWS
  • Experience with RabbitMQ, MS SQL Server
  • Experience with Keycloak or other OIDC providers
  • Experience building Docker images, running Docker containers, and deploying full stack applications to an ECS cluster.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across development and production operating environments
  • Experience developing with source control tools such as GitLab, GitHub, or similar tools
  • Experience with CI/CD (continuous integration/continuous deployment)
  • Experience in supporting internal and external customers
  • Experience with full stack web development is a plus
  • Experience with c# and/or asp.net a plus
  • Experience with JavaScript and Playwright and or Selenium a plus
  • Experience diagnosing application issues in production using after-the-fact tools, such as log output.
  • Maintain the health and optimization of ARC and associated tools
  • Proactively monitor and report performance and utilization of ARC and associated tools
  • Administer ARC as needed to meet application requirements (compute, storage, network, operations)
  • In conjunction with the client and AWS Cloud Services, maintain and troubleshoot application and associated networking elements including implementation of AMI instances, DNS, load balancers, service IPs, node ports, etc.
  • Log management & monitoring
  • Manage problem or escalated tickets and tasks.
  • Assist with developing tactical strategies, processes and procedures related to systems/application administration.
  • Follow best practices for testing and deployment pipelines, DevSecOps, CI/CD, GitLab-CI, etc.
  • Provide input into infrastructure architecture designs as needed
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery planning and exercises as needed

Education and Experience

Bachelor s degree plus a minimum of 5 years of experience in related field; or master s degree plus a minimum of 3 years of experience in related field; or Associates Degree plus a minimum of 7 years of experience in a related field; OR High School Diploma or GED plus a minimum of 9 years of experience in a related field.

  • Experience developing full stack solutions including cloud-based solution in AWS a plus.
  • Experience developing solutions against security frameworks such as NIST RMF.
  • Experience working as a developer for IC customers is a plus.
  • Experience with OAuth authorization standard.
  • Experience working with container-based implementations in the AWS IC Cloud
  • Knowledge of best practices for application deployments and DevSecOps procedures in a government cloud environment
  • Ability to manage within collaborative and decentralized organization (both internal and client organizations).
  • Strong analytic, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills

A typical salary range for this type of role is between $180,000- $200,000 per year depending on experience
