Quality Assurance Engineer

Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Quality Assurance Engineer with experience within the aerospace and defense industry. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software testing methodologies and tools, coupled with a proven track record of ensuring the quality and functionality of software solutions.


The candidate that will succeed in this position will be able to create all the testing and automation frameworks as required for their projects. Thus, the candidate may have to work on multiple projects once, also working to improve the company's best practices from a testing a standpoint.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of functional testing strategies for portfolio project management software in the aerospace and defense sector.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to understand requirements, define test objectives, and develop comprehensive test plans.
  • Design and create detailed test cases and test scenarios to validate software functionality, usability, and performance.
  • Conduct manual and automated testing of software applications, including regression testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Utilize industry-standard QA tools and frameworks to manage test cases, track defects, and report testing progress.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including developers, project managers, and quality assurance analysts to identify and resolve software defects.
  • Mentor junior QA engineers and provide guidance on testing best practices, methodologies, and tools.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in functional quality assurance testing, with a focus on portfolio project management software in the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Understanding in test automation tools such as Selenium, JUnit, or TestNG, Playwright
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, including black-box testing, white-box testing, and exploratory testing.
  • Knowledge of aerospace and defense industry standards and regulations along with project management principles.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • FedRamp experiences beneficial.
