Employment Status: Salaried Exempt

Shift: Mon. Fri. 8am-5pm

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate for the Maintenance Manager role is a leader of a group of mechanics, supervisors, planners and scheduler to execute work to maintain the reliability of the extrusion equipment. The company has recorded record sales and has grown out of the current structure to create a maintenance manager position to help manage drop in work orders and manage line calls. This position requires good communication skills and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and execution of the daily maintenance plan.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage Daily Schedule and Coordinate Resources
  • Support the Operations team by working in a safe, customer-focused manner managing drop in work requests and schedule to prioritize most important work
  • Ensure compliance to safety and PPE and work with Safety department to ensure that all safety programs and procedures are followed
  • Monitor daily shift reports for any gaps in performance
  • Work to assess effectiveness of work and make corrections as necessary
  • Communication of downtime to the appropriate groups and working with contractors as necessary
  • Attend daily calls reviewing previous performance and adjusting work for the mechanics as necessary
KPIs
  • Track KPIs necessary for group and add/adjust as necessary
  • Help to implement predictive and preventative procedures/technology
  • Assist with departments being serviced to prioritize and execute Tier goals
  • Participate and support reliability initiatives and improvement projects
Management
  • Candidates must have the ability to provide specific feedback to enhance individual performance, and provide associates with written performance appraisals including discipline and up to termination
  • Execute reviews and adjust development plans of mechanics and help to remove barriers to performance.
  • Hire, orient, train, evaluate and develop team members
  • Communicate and train employees on best practices/knowledge sharing
Skills, Qualifications, Education and/or Relevant Experience:

Required
  • Experience in a maintenance Department within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with a CMMS system
Skills, Qualifications, Education and/or Relevant Experience (Cont.):

Required
  • 5+ years managerial experience in the distribution or manufacturing field with equivalent experience in the mechanical or electrical field
  • Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and procedures including best safety practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Collect, maintain, and analyze data
  • Willingness to respond and coordinate resources on unscheduled days and weekends as needed.
  • Interpersonal and communications skills to motivate- empower- train- direct- lead- evaluate and coach diverse group of team members to reach their fullest potential
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize many different projects
Preferred
  • Bachelor s or Associates degree in a technical discipline (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil)
  • Ability to develop and maintain a partnership and communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally with Safety, Operations, Engineering, executives, peers, contractors, and vendors
  • TPM/Lean Manufacturing Principles
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Manage approximately 20 supervisors and mechanics
