Overview

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator provides overall direction to the Agency in its administration of the U.S. foreign economic assistance programs and the appropriations made available for such purposes under the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961, as amended. The USAID objective is to support partners to become self-reliant and capable of leading their own development journeys and make progress toward this by reducing the reach of conflict, preventing the spread of pandemic disease, and counteracting the drivers of violence, instability, transnational crime and other security threats. USAID promotes American prosperity through investments that expand markets for U.S. exports; creates a level playing field for U.S. businesses; and supports more stable, resilient, and democratic societies. Responsibilities

Scope of WorkThe Communications Analyst serves as a core member of the DEIA analytical support team whose goal is to effectively translate the Director for DEIA priorities into action by developing approaches to enable a positive and collaborative workforce environment using communication tools and tactics. Charged with executing internal agency events at the request of the FO, the Communications Analyst will provide event promotion and logistical support to bureaus and independent office campaigns, and events that support the Director's priorities as well as Agency management and operations. The incumbent must be highly motivated, self-directed, and possess the ability to independently prioritize his/her workload.Duties and ResponsibilitiesManages creation of original, high-quality content to promote the Agency's work to support Front Office goals;Collaborates on messaging, media outreach, and special events with Office of the Executive Secretariat (ES) and other bureaus to amplify campaigns via digital media channels;Serves as point of contact (POC) for content emerging from USAID missions, advises on messaging and content production for videos and success stories; and helps route content through Office of Legislative and Public Affairs (LPA) clearance channels;Liaises with the interagency on U.S. government initiatives globally impacting USAID programs and initiatives and leads associated communication follow-ups within USAID;Drafts talking points, memos, briefers, bios, and testimony for principals;Liaises with the interagency on U.S. government initiatives globally impacting USAID programs and initiatives and leads associated communication follow-ups within USAID;Drafts talking points, memos, briefers, bios, and testimony for principals;Coordinates special events and programs and incorporates key news, moments, events, and initiative milestones;Develops basic communication products and tools such as social media posts, blogs, event posters and flyers, PowerPoint presentations and infographics; andPerforms other duties as assigned.

Strong Skill Sets NeededOral and Written CommunicationsTeamwork and CollaborationPrioritizing and MultitaskingOrganization and PlanningProject ManagementRequired QualificationsAbility to develop basic communications products and tools such as: Social media posts, blogs, event posters and flyers, PowerPoint presentations, and infographics;Proficiency in the use of Google Applications and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing and and shifting priorities;Ability to efficiently multitask and prioritize workload accordingly;Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and interact with people at all management and support levels;Excellent written and verbal skills in English. The ability to read, analyze, and interpret policy documents, reports, and correspondence; andS. citizen eligible to obtain a secret level security clearance.Education:Bachelor s Degree in Communications or a related field and eight (8) years of relevant experience.USAID Assumptions and ConstraintsSupport may be required outside of core hours.Ability to telework will be based on office staffing requirements.On-site work may be required.Travel may be required.
