Job description

Quality Assurance Test Engineer

Onsite: Manassas, VA

Clearance Required: Active U.S. DOD Secret Clearance
Rate: $40 to $50 an hour with partial benefits

Impact:

  • Crafting comprehensive test procedures.
  • Proficiently utilizing electrical measurement tools, such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.
  • Conducting Verification and Validation for corrective changes.
  • Performing installations, rip-outs, testing, and validation of tactical systems.
  • Assisting in configuring the lab in accordance with relevant drawings and port maps.
  • Identifying, analyzing, and documenting software, firmware, and hardware defects and collaborating with the engineering team to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Supporting the Logistics team in the development of installation and operation procedures.
  • Developing and analyzing test cases while providing regular progress updates.

Required:

  • Submarine Fire Control Technician (FT) or similar (ST, ET, or IT) or Surface Navy experience
  • Over 5 years of experience with AN/BYG-1, AN/BQQ-10, AN/BLQ-10, or Submarine Weapon Launchers, or comparable combat systems.
  • Bachelor's or Technology degree in Engineering or a related specialized area/field, or equivalent (4 years job-related experience).
  • Requires an additional 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years of job-related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in software testing and analysis.
  • 5-10 years of experience with Navy AN/BYG-1, AN/BQQ-10, AN/BLQ-10 or Submarine Weapon Launchers
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • General knowledge of network configurations, operations, and commands.

Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

**Some travel required (in support of test events in government labs, as well as shipboard installations in domestic and international locations).

'In compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the W2 hourly rate range for this role is $47.00 - $52.00. Rates listed are not a guarantee of salary/rate. Rate offered at time of hire will depend on many factors including education, experience, interview results and skill level.
