Senior Data Scientist

Job description

Dynamis is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to support a government client in the Washinton, DC area. The Senior Data Scientist is an integral member of a collaborative analytics team that will be responsible for supporting the development of products by translating business requirements into data-driven deliverables and analyses. The individual will collaborate with client to design and develop requirements for review and design, develop and execute solutions.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will:

  • Designs data collection methods.
  • Analyzes data trends and assess results and applies statistical methodology to complex data.
  • Acts in a consultancy capacity on data analysis projects.
  • Designs and implements data gathering/management computer systems and software.
  • Provides advanced geospatial and social network analysis.
  • Explore and examine data from multiple disparate sources with the goal of discovering patterns and addressing operations research business problems.
  • Applies statistics to make forecasts and to provide projected figures.
  • Presents information in a variety of formats.
  • Creates automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance.
  • Supports and executes change management activities with regards to data analysis across divisions/units/ programs.
  • Ensures constant compliance with standards and to effect change, where merited.
  • Conducts gap analyses, creates functional designs, and guides leadership through analytical data processing, when needed.
  • Proactively plays an analytical role for developing key performance indicators (KPIs) for the purpose of identifying trends and evaluating the success of the business s initiatives.

Requirements:

  • U.S. citizenship to obtain ICE Suitability
  • Education Required: Master of Arts or Master of Science (MA/MS) degree required in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science, Information Management, or a closely related field.
  • Experience Required: A minimum of at least 10 years of data analytics-related experience or relevant/similar experience which includes experience/knowledge/skills/abilities with all of the following.
  • Knowledgeable/experience with maintaining and complying with requirements for collecting, compiling, processing, normalizing, analyzing and interpreting data using systems support tools such as SAS, R, SQL, Python, ArcGIS, Tableau, Access, and Excel;
  • Experience with documenting and reviewing data sharing agreements.
  • Customer service and communication skills relaying technical concepts.
  • Experience with managing data quality, cleansing, tagging, archiving and metadata management; testing and implementing application software with regards to collecting, processing, and storing data.
