Contract Immigration Attorney

Job description

Scope of Position:

Independant attorney contractor is responsible for assisting the production team of paralegals to perform final review of immigration packets. Candidate will be paid per packet. Looking for someone to review about 30 packets per month, with a turn around time of 24 hours, no less.

Candidate will only be reviewing final packets, will not be preparing them.

Immigration attorney with at least 2-3yrs of experience, should have experience with :

  • * AOS, I-130, National Visa Center processing, Embassy Processing
    • 601 Waivers, SIJ applications, WAVA applications, Asylum, I-290B Appeal, Mandamus lawsuits
    • Removal proceedings: motions, pleadings, etc
    • No Employment immigration work is done, only Family, Removal, and Appeal work is done at our firm.
  • Analyze case documents for proper case preparation
  • Perform basic legal research on U.S. immigration and/or family law to make sure form editions are proper and packet is prepared properly.
  • Document notes within the CMR system.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, as needed

Compensation: The base pay for this role is commensurate with experience/education, DOE.

Work Conditions : This position will perform duties under normal office working conditions, including the prolonged use of a computer, and office equipment, and working in close proximity to others. Essential physical requirements may include standing, walking, stooping, typing, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
