Position Summary: The Treasury Manager will play a key role in management of the company's liquidity, cash analysis, banking relationships, and merchant activities, working closely with other areas both inside and outside the company. The position will ensure effective day-to-day execution in a growing organization while ensuring adherence with requirements and company policies and procedures. The position will develop and transform our treasury function.

Qualifications Required:
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Requires 5+ years of experience in accounting and/or treasury management.
  • Should possess knowledge of real estate management and accounting.
  • Must possess the ability to effectively communicate with outside lenders, bankers, etc.
  • Ability to question the status quo, strong critical thinking and recommend improvements, especially related to treasury processes and procedures and controls.
  • Must work well under pressure and within tight timelines and shifting priorities.

Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily and long-term liquidity needs based on business requirements and forecasting.
  • Monitor corporate, affordable multi-family and senior living property's bank accounts, cash positions and prepare forecasting to ensure adequate cash balances. Engage with Asset Management, VP Finance, Director of Corporate Accounting and CFO regarding forecasted cash.
  • Monitor distribution accounts to insure proper and reimbursed cash balances. Identify problem issues and work with appropriate team members.
  • Work with appropriate teams and leadership related to cash positions. Provide reporting and analysis that are needed.
  • Manage banking relationships to provide internal controls, security, and services to meet our growing needs. Engage with each bank to establish a positive and strong relationship. Evaluate pricing on services and identify new or obsolete services.
  • Identify opportunities with banking relationships for treasury and debt.
  • Create/Coordinate/Maintain access rights for all users at multiple levels of the organization for banking websites and mortgage online access. Ensure all banking relationships have online access for appropriate personnel. Engage with team members to identify appropriate access and provide within 24 hours of accounts being opened.
  • Develop, evaluate and maintain system controls to ensure data integrity and accuracy where appropriate. Ensure all cash transactions are posted immediately to maintain accurate Yardi bank records.
  • Develop, evaluate and maintain internal controls over the treasury function.
  • Manage, direct, and develop Treasury Staff and the Treasury function. Understand and be able to perform all aspects of treasury function. Evaluate systems and processes for best practices and improvements.
  • Liaise with finance and accounting staff on cash positions and cash movements. Support Director of Corporate Accounting on Corporate Cash positions and payments weekly.
  • Evaluate bank reconciliations completed by AHO, SLO and Corporate for items that reoccur and could possibly be eliminated.
  • Identify improvements and provide suggestions for banking, Yardi, finance systems.
  • Maintain bank account documentation and signatory updates.
  • Continuous improvement of reporting tools, database tools and metrics.
  • Technical advice and problem resolution for Treasury operations.

Physical Demands: Position requires work to be performed in an office setting. Extensive use of a computer, keyboard and mouse; requires walking talking, seeing and hearing. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment: Work takes place in an office setting with moderate noise levels. Occasional travel may be required.
