Introduction\rGRADE24\rLOCATION OF POSITIONMDH Spring Grove Hospital Center\rCatonsville, MD 21228\r\rMain Purpose of JobThe main purpose of this position is to be responsible for\roperational and functional responsibilities for a group of patient care areas\rand/or specialty units (1-3 Patient Units, Clinic) in accordance with the\rinstitution's policies and procedures, standard of nursing practices and\rgovernment regulations to ensure safe and quality patient care is delivered\refficiently. This position will be under the supervision of the Chief Nursing\rOfficer.\rMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation: A Master's degree in Nursing or a health related field from an accredited college or university.\rExperience: Four years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a psychiatric setting including two years in a supervisory, consultative, teaching or administrative capacity.\rNotes:\r1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a health related field from an accredited college or university and six years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a psychiatric setting including four years in a supervisory, consultative, teaching or administrative capacityfor the required education and experience.\r2.Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as a commissioned officerinNursing classifications or Nursing and Hospital Administration specialty codes in the Nursing field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.\rDESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSThe desired candidates should have experience in the following:\r\r\r1. Experience with educating and training employees on quality and performance improvement processes.\r\r\r2. Experience with designing effective quality and safety monitoring processes.\r\r\r3. Experience leading a team of nurses to provide services to patients and manage their records.\r\r\rLICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS1. Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215 or possess a current multi-state license in party states that candidates have declared as primary states of residence. \r2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland. \rSPECIAL REQUIREMENTS1.
