Assistant General ManagerClick Here to Apply OnlineJob Description Restaurant Associates Position Title:Assistant General ManagerPay 13Reports To:Salary:$70,000 - $85,000Other Forms of Compensation: Bonus PlanBecome part of Restaurant Associates, the industry's leading provider of dining and event catering for some of the nation's most prestigious museums, performing arts centers and corporationsVoted Glassdoor's Employee Choice Awards-Best Places to Work in 2021,This is R/AJob SummaryAs an Assistant General Manager, your primary responsibility is to support the General Manager in leading all aspects of the restaurant's operations including catering and events, ensuring compliance with the approved budget, and meeting client expectations.This is a hands-on role, involving direct involvement in the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, including running service, supporting catering setup and execution, and ensuring the overall success of the entire property.Key Responsibilities:Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable terviews, hires, trains, and coaches employees and managers.Participates in employee meetings and training programs.Manages purchasing and inventory controls of FOH Items.Oversees restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house activities.Coordinates and executes catering setup and services, ensuring client expectations are met.Collaborates with kitchen staff to ensure the timely and efficient preparation of food for both restaurant and catering services.Reviews and improves work procedures in both the restaurant and catering operations to enhance service quality and safety.Provides exceptional customer service to restaurant guests and catering clients.Conducts regular inspections to maintain safety, sanitation, and maintenance standards in the restaurant and catering areas.Supervises, schedules, trains, and coaches staff in both restaurant and catering roles.Collaborates with other departments within the operation to integrate dining service with facility plans.Drives marketing events and assists with marketing strategies. Preferred Qualifications:A Bachelor's degree is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.Five to seven years of upscale food service experience, including at least one year of multi-unit management.Wine knowledge and mixologyMaintains great relationships with clients.Self-motivated and outside-the-box problem solverExcellent leadership and organizational skills, adaptability to change, and attention to detail.Effective problem-solving and conflict-management abilities.Ability to multitask and concentrate with constant interruptions.Knowledge of cash handling procedures and reconciliation of multiple cash banks and reports.Familiarity with HACCP controls and proper food storage and usage.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.Exceptional business etiquette and client relations.Effective time management and task prioritization to meet deadlines.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Strong catering experience is required.ServSafe or Department of Health certification is a plus.Apply to Restaurant Associates todayRestaurant Associates is a member of Compass Group USAClick here to Learn More about the Compass StoryCompass Group is an equal opportunity employer.
